The International Tamaskan Register (ITR) is dedicated to the preservation of the Tamaskan breed. As the official breed registry, the ITR meticulously maintains pedigree records and health data for Tamaskans worldwide. This allows them to oversee the breed and ensure its continuity.

The ITR operates through two regional Registrars, one in Europe and one in North America, that handle registration paperwork. Behind the scenes, the ITR manages a comprehensive database of Tamaskan lineages and medical histories. This centralized resource benefits Tamaskan owners, breeders, and the breed overall.

A network of devoted Tamaskan enthusiasts around the world run the ITR. Despite being spread across the globe, they share a passion for protecting and bettering the unique Tamaskan breed. Through careful record-keeping and oversight by the ITR, these individuals help safeguard the future of this remarkable dog.

The Tamaskan Dog Register (TDR) emerged in February 2006 as the official breed registry for authentic Tamaskan Dogs worldwide. This organization established comprehensive rules, regulations, and a strict code of ethics for registered breeders. Mandatory health, structural, genetic, and temperament requirements were set for all breeding or potential breeding dogs. Additionally, standards for ethical breeding and whelping practices were implemented.

Under the TDR's guidance, projects were founded to advance the breed through ethical practices. The International Tamaskan Database was created to record every Foundation Dog used to develop the breed, along with all new approved outcrosses and registered Tamaskan Dogs. This genetic history aids breeding efforts by identifying desirable traits to perpetuate and potential issues to avoid. Furthermore, the TDR founded the International Tamaskan Rescue Organization to help rescue and rehome Tamaskan Dogs and look-alikes in need.
